On 20th October ITS Ukraine met with Ivan Sherstyuk from Easyway to discuss their work and the services they provide in Ukraine.
Easyway is a leading travel data app for Ukraine that provides passenger information and route timetables for public transport in Ukraine.
Whilst easyway have done a remarkably good job at providing the data that’s available, its clear that they are severely restricted by limited access to data about bus, train and tram times and an administrative culture that doesn’t always welcome public access to data.
This problem is not unique to Ukraine, but is a problem that needs to be tackled if Ukraine is to fully participate in (and benefit from) the big data revolution that’s reinventing travel services.
